Welcome to the Trauma and Orthopaedic department. Our Trauma and Orthopaedic units provide specialist care to patients with musclo-skeletal conditions including arthritis.

We are an internationally recognised Orthopaedic centre, with highly regarded surgeons and experienced multi-disciplinary teams specifically for orthopaedic surgery. Both sites are fully supports by the Orthopaedic Research Unit which delivers evidence based research and innovation to improve patient care.
Outpatient services are available at all sites including Bexhill, Conquest, Eastbourne, Rye and Uckfield.
Conquest and Eastbourne hospitals have separate trauma (emergency) and elective (pre-planned) orthopaedic wards and surgery is conducted daily.
- Over 1,300 pre-planned total joint replacements.
- In excess of 1,000 day surgery procedures.
We also have two additional day surgery sites (Bexhill and Uckfield) which are specifically designed to manage a high capacity of patients who require minor, diagnostic and keyhole surgery.
There are 18 consultant teams, each has their own firm of doctors and administration staff.
Each of our orthopaedic wards has a team of highly trained multi-disciplinary staff that are dedicated to patient care and support for both the patient and their relatives.
