Nutrition and Dietetics
Welcome
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department work with people to prevent and offer effective dietary treatments for nutrition related diseases.
Dietitians use their specialist knowledge of nutritional science, medicine and social science to devise appropriate dietary modifications for patients.
The main aim of dietetic intervention is the prevention or correction of nutrition related symptoms and/or disease.
Dietitians within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust practice evidence based dietetics and nutritional therapy.
Registered dietitians are the only qualified clinical nutrition specialist registered with the Health Professionals Council (HPC). The HPC provides a code of professional conduct which all dietitians on the register adhere to.
