Foundation doctors - Surgery
Both sites have a Surgical Assessment unit, to allow for the rapid assessment of surgical patients when you are on-call.
The consultants’ special interests cover a wide range of sub-specialties. You do Pre-Assessment clinics, cover the wards, lead ward round, and run the firm. We have few “SHO-level” or FY2 doctors in General Surgery, so you will get a lot of contact with the consultant and registrar.
The Day Surgery Units are “nurse-led”, so you attend sessions there for your education, rather than as service commitment.
